Capcom should have just waited for the exclusivity to end before announcing at least out of respect for the deal and in Nintendo's part. Fri 26th Feb I don't think it's "bad" for Capcom since overall sales (Switch + PC) will still be more important to them.It would have been better, I think, if the initial announcement of the game included the PC version from the very start. More games on multiplats the better! The MH community will benefit from it! I'm just saying announcing it so early was a bit of a douche-y move by Capcom for Switch owners and for Nintendo themselves. Like I said I don't mind a PC or Xbox or PS version of Rise. They'll obviously expect some Switch owners to double dip in the future. Considering the Switch version isn't out yet! From Capcom's POV of course this isn't an issue. Will likely cannibalize a portion of Switch sales due to the fact that some would likely wait for the PC version. Gives PC fanboys a free and early ticket to instantly bash more on the Switch hardware and players who'll likely buy the game on Switch.ģ. The PC version announcment is basically riding on the back of Nintendo's marketing for free!Ģ. The PC version announcement this early just kinda thrown the deal in the trash IMO. Kinda disrespectful to Nintendo and their marketing efforts especially with the reported deal that Ninty paid for the exclusivity. But why would they announce this randomly in interviews right before the Switch version came out?ġ. I wouldn't mind a PC version to be honest. That includes a strong focus on portability, advising gameplay is designed around "being able to pick up and play whenever you want". There's no reason for Switch fans to be concerned by this, as the duo confirmed how they “set out to make a game for the Switch”, fully aware of the console's shortcomings in doing so. Speaking to Fanbyte for an interview, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Yasunori Ichinose revealed the PC version won't launch until 2022, saying the port is “still very much in development.” Nothing was mentioned about other consoles, so for now, Monster Hunter Rise remains a console exclusive for Switch. Initially announced as a Switch exclusive, Capcom has just confirmed Rise is now coming to PC – something that was reported a short time ago following the Capcom data hack. Releasing on March 26th, it's a welcome return for Capcom's action RPG series to Nintendo platforms, after we missed out on 2018's Monster Hunter World.
